The idea

Diagnose it properly, then price it once

Most of the frustration homeowners have with this trade comes from the same place. Someone arrives, glances at a wet wall, and quotes a system off a laminated sheet. The system gets installed. The basement is still damp, or it is dry for two years and then it is not, and nobody wants to talk about the warranty.

The reason is almost always that the water was never traced. It was assumed. Water Lock is built around the opposite habit: walk the outside before the inside, test the pump instead of taking its word for it, and be willing to tell somebody that their eight thousand dollar problem is a downspout and a weekend of regrading.

That approach costs us a certain number of large jobs. It also means the ones we do quote are the ones that were actually needed, which is a considerably better business to be in.

  • The outside is inspected before the inside is diagnosed
  • Written estimates, with the reasoning, not just a number
  • No same-day discount and no pressure to sign in your kitchen
  • Completed work backed by a 30-year warranty

Straight answers

What we can tell you, plainly

Everything below is something you can hold us to. There is nothing on this page we cannot back up in person.

Licensed, bonded and insured

Certificates available at the estimate. Ask, and ask everyone else you are getting quotes from.

Estimates cost nothing

The visit and the written estimate are free anywhere in the coverage area. No trip fee, no obligation, no deposit to book.

Emergency and same-day service

Because water damage is a function of time. What sits for a day comes out; what sits for a week gets replaced.

30-year warranty

Terms handed over in writing before you commit, rather than produced afterward once something has gone wrong.

And what we will not

The things this site deliberately does not claim

Every contractor website in this trade makes the same four claims, and almost none of them are verifiable. So here is what is missing from ours, and why.

  • No invented number of years in business. Ask on the phone and you will be told.
  • No project counts. Nobody audits those and everybody rounds up.
  • No stock photography presented as our own completed work.
  • No reviews written by us, and no five-star badge nobody issued.
  • No award logos. There is no independent body handing those out in this trade.

None of that means we have not done the work. It means we would rather you judge the estimate, the questions we ask at your house, and the warranty document, because those are the parts you can actually check before you spend money.

How we operate

A service-area business, on purpose

We are a service-area business. There is no showroom to visit, and no trip charge for coming out.

No showroom in your price

There is no retail unit, no display wall and no counter staff for a trade where every single job happens at the customer's house.

Coverage measured in towns, not miles

Every town and ZIP code we cover is listed on the service areas page. No vague radius, no discovering at booking that you are just outside it.

One contractor, cause and symptom

Waterproofing, structure, drainage and masonry under one roof, so nobody is standing in your basement explaining that the other half is someone else's job.

30Year
The guarantee

Backed by a 30-year warranty

A waterproofing system is only worth the paper behind it. Our work carries a 30-year warranty. Ask for the terms that apply to your job and we will read them with you before you sign anything, not after.

Questions

Questions about us

How long have you been doing this?

Ask us on the call and you will get a straight answer from the person who will be at your house. We are not going to print a number on a website that nobody can check, which is what most of this industry does.

Do you use subcontractors?

Waterproofing, structural repair, drainage and the masonry that goes with them are handled in house. That is the reason we can correct a cause and a symptom on one job instead of scheduling three trades who each blame the other two.

Are you insured, and can I see it?

Licensed, bonded and insured, and yes. Ask at the estimate and you will be shown the certificates. This is a normal request and any contractor who bristles at it has told you something useful.

Why are there no customer photos or reviews on this site?

Because we are not going to put up stock photos of somebody else's basement and call them our work, and we are not going to write our own reviews. As real jobs and real reviews accumulate they will go here. Until then this page stays honest and short.

What if I get a cheaper quote?

Bring it to us and we will go through it with you line by line. Frequently the gap is not price at all, it is scope: no vapor barrier, an unsealed basin, a discharge that stops at the wall, no warranty document. Sometimes the other quote is genuinely better and we will say so.

Judge us on the estimate

It is free, it is written, and it will tell you more about a contractor than any about page ever could.
